In The Navy

He leaves in two weeks.

Two weeks is dwindling to one. Soon one week will be 3 days. Then tomorrow. Then he'll be gone and I won't see him for two months and will have limited communication with him.

I'm kind of freaking out.

Because two weeks is a really insignificant amount of time. Not enough, but all that there is. I'm proud of him and know that this is something he needs to do. I know that he has nothing but the best intentions, and that makes things a little easier. But really, it can only be so easy when your boyfriend of 2 1/2 years leaves, and you don't know when you'll be together again.

I feel ya girl. All the way. I met Chris BEFORE his mission so when he left it was peace out for two years with little communication! But it all worked out :) Just stay busy, blog a lot, and time will fly!

I'm pretty positive I would be feeling the same way if I was in your shoes. Russ and I did long distance for 2 years - the best advice I have is to keep busy. Discover new hobbies, read some books...I know it's hard in the beginning, but you'll get through it! Just remember that he's probably feeling the same way you are, so being honest and keeping the lines of communication as open as possible is key. Good luck, lady! Soak in these two weeks and keep your chin up - you two will be ok!

Oh dear Kellie, I am so sorry you'll have to go through this. It is absolutely rough. Before my sister was married, her hubs (boyfriend...fiancee...whatever...) had to leave for 2 months 2 consecutive summers for Marine OCT. It sucks, but I think it can make you stronger and give you a chance to do your own thing--that sounds so concillatory, but just try to look for fun you things to do while he's gone. Hey, it's better than just being sad, right?

*big virtual hugs*
