Beachin'

I really miss the ocean. I used to live in San Diego, about 10 minutes from the nearest beach (Silver Strand, my favorite). Then we moved about twenty minutes from the nearest beach. Then we moved two hours away.

Not everyone will understand, but to go from living within walking distance of a beach.. to having to drive several hours, well that sucks. The beach is soothing to me. I could sit out there all day, hours on end, just staring at the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing is just loud enough to drown out my thoughts, not loud enough to be annoying. It's beautiful, buzzing with life. And have you ever sat through a sunset at the beach? That's just something else altogether. I don't think I can put into words how much I miss the beach.

This one is a beach in Washington. It was just past sunset but still beautiful!

Laguna

And this is Silver Strand.. I think the kid on the right adds a nice touch.. ha!

(Remember all the things we wanted
Now all the memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye)

aww!! I love the beach!! I wish to one day have a beach front home or an estate on an island somewhere. I can only imagine how you feel. I would hate moving away from the beach after living so close. Its like taking candy from a baby.

Thanks for the comment btw!

I would love to be near the beach everyday, but such a task proves to be difficult when one lives in the midwest.

By the way, I love the end of your post. I'm not a Kelly Clarkson fan but I do appreciate that song . . . most likely because it is so easily relatable.

Thanks for the comment-

I'd have to second "Live from fleet street," the beach is where I'd love to be...but here in the middle of nowhere, it's cornfields as far as the eye can see.

Thanks for following. ;)

I know how you feel, completely. I grew up on the beach in Michigan. Not quite the ocean, but it was pretty large. And now I live in the middle of the desert in Phoenix, AZ! I hate it. I visted Long Beach this past spring and it became my home away from home. I loved everything about it. :)

Great blog!

I too miss the beach. It is the one big thing I miss about CA. The beach is forever my home, no matter how landlocked I may live my life.

AngeliStarr- I would love to have a beach front home one day too! But I'd love to live in so many places, so I better get rich :p

Kendall- I lived in the midwest for a while, I liked it. Lots of green :)

Sass- I know that, I lived in a house right across from cornfields. I'd look out my window and just see corn...for miles. Ha!

Girl Meets Gun- I live in the desert now too, but in California. I can't stand all the brown! And I love Long Beach.. it's beautiful.

Singlutionary- I like to think that way as well :) The beach will always be my home.
