How I Am Blessed

I'm sitting here. Not doing my last paper of the semester. Watching Harry Potter. Thinking of all the ways I am blessed in my life. One of the most prominent things running through my head.. is I am blessed because I am me.

I've had great times. I've had horrible times.
I've hated my dad and I've loved him.
My mom gets on my last nerve but always knows how to make me smile.
I've had my share of fights.
I now have my share of amazing friends.

The people in my life, good and bad, have shaped me. They've made me who I am.

My parents gave me the discipline to be a respectful person. To know where I stand in life and not.. be a brat. I know the value of hard work because of them. I know the value of a dollar. Because of them, I smile when I don't want to. I treat strangers as future friends. Because of them, I know that I'd feel a whole lot better spending the day working, coming home and relaxing.. instead of spending the entire day on my butt. They've made me productive.

My enemies have made me who I am. They've shown me how it feels to be treated like dirt. How it feels to have someone invading your life. Messing with your things. They've shown me how it feels to be lied about. They've made me a better person. Because of them, I know I'll never do that to another person. I do my best not to name-call, I try my hardest to brush off mean things. I try to solve conflicts before they get bad, and I know a thing or two about forgiveness. They've taught me how to be a nice person.

My friends have taught me everything. They've shown me how it feels to be appreciated. Loved. They've taught me how to be just as great a friend as they are. How to be supportive, excited for them. How to be comforting in hard times, and how to show them I care. The ones that have stuck with me are everything to me.

Ryan has taught me a thing or two about patience. About forgiveness. About love.

God has taught me about myself. He has given me the tools to be the most amazing person I can be. He's taught me the most about forgiveness. Shown me the most about unfailing love. Everyday, He finds a way to bless me more and more. He's given me friends who love me. A family that drives me crazy. A boyfriend that will drive 5 hours just to see me for a day.

He's given me optimism. A good spirit, and He's made me humble. I'm not sure what else I need.
